Where is Los Cristianos
In the south of Tenerife about 20 minutes drive (or bus journey) from Tenerife Sur Airport.

What I like about Los Cristianos
With fishing village roots, Los Cristianos still has a Canarian heart. It feels like a town and not purpose built. And it tries very hard to be a ‘barrier free paradise’ by making its attractions accessible to everyone.

What I don’t like about Los Cristianos
The oinks on holiday who think the motorised scooters for people with mobility problems are meant for scooting about the promenade – they look like complete nobs.

Where I’d stay in Los Cristianos
No question, it has to be the Hotel Reverón Plaza – small, family run and with bags of style. Not like a resort hotel at all.

Where I’d have a coffee in Los Cristianos
Mestizo; laid back and rather sophisticated…or it was until it became popular.

Where I’d eat lunch in Los Cristianos
I think people overdo the praise, but El Cine does have a certain rough and ready charm and I like their fried pulpo.

Where I’d eat dinner in Los Cristianos
Le Bistrot D’Alain. Is it pretentious? The chef/owner is French…what do you think? They take their cuisine seriously here and it shows in the quality and taste of the select dishes on the menu. The choice for foodies in Los Cristianos.

Where I’d sunbathe in Los Cristianos
Los Cristianos town beach, it’s got more of a personality than many people’s favourite Las Vistas which is too regimented for my getting prone tastes.

Where I’d go for a drink in Los Cristianos
I don’t have a favourite bar in Los Cristianos, but I like some of the ones at San Telmo – those on the upper level with entrances facing the road; there is a massive difference from the one’s on the beach level.

Where I’d avoid in Los Cristianos
The promenade at 3 in the morning. It can be cockroach city down there and a bit like trying to avoiding stepping in the cracks in the pavement…crunch. Apart from that I wouldn’t be seen dead in the bar near the bus station with the octogenarian line dancing – holiday hell – but bless ’em, the people there seem to be having a good time.
